society vs. Individual

 How do I often wonder and crave to live for forever. lifespan of just 100 year as we call it a century, seems so less to live. The desire to live for eternity just overpowers me and the frequent thought that this dear life running so fast..I'am aging day by day and one day i'll get old and eventually die just makes me anxious, nervous and so sad. Why is life so short?...why are we designed in such a way as to die one day, leaving nothing of us back on land to see change that's going to happen after us? well! it is indeed difficult to accept the fact that death is inevitable.  it's so ironic how often we human beings tend to drive meaning and purpose in everything we do as if we are the most special one in the entire universe and our things literally matter to the entire humankind. to be true and practical, a person is insignificant to the world..there is so much of population in the world, the earth is overcrowding, there is an increasing pressure on the existing natural resources that its deteriorating the environment and there is no point considering yourself so special and significant and wondering what people will say about you!  And being an Indian, I can see how often a small society and village becomes the all the concern for an individual; not to mention but not in a positive way but most negative way. Looking around, I can see no person thinking beyond his personal life. yes! finally we have to live our life to the fullest and be self contended at the end of the day and eventually at the end of our life but what when an individual opts to live life on his own term which are in no way offensive or harmful to anyone in any way. society's standards for respect and dignity are itself false and are based on the things like; to whom the person marries? is the person a government job holder, is he from the same cast? and is he rich?  when such trivial factors  decides the amount of respect an individual is going to get then isn't it very ridiculous, and at the same time contradictory to the other worldwide progress we witness everyday? This web is so cruel that it has the ability to make person fall prey to its falls ideologies. 

Many people have a falls conception that every village is the incarnation of beauty, simplicity and in itself is heaven.  But to be true, it might be possible in case of some villages but according to my experience, villages are still, if not full, are half a century backwards in terms of mental enlightenment. Mine is a very hypo-critic because it is ridden with many social evils, as is evident in Indian scenario. Society can have a drastic impact on an individual but after all, it is an individual choice to live the life one wants. what is important above all is that life is for once and instead of living it by becoming a victim of falls standards set by a society, be the one among those who make new paths to live and thrive it.
